MM6 Maison Margiela and Dr Martens reunite for new capsule

MM6 Maison Margiela and Dr Martens are back together. The high-end fashion house and the UK shoe and boot brand have reunited with a new footwear capsule “that reinvents iconic silhouettes”.

That’s achieved through a “playful mix of shoemaking heritage and progressive design”.

This second collaboration sees classic Dr Martens forms reworked through MM6’s “subversive lens – distorting the familiar to create something unexpected”.

Two hybrid styles return for the season: the 1460 boot/1461 shoe and the 1461 shoe/Penton loafer, reimagined in stark white. The distinctive white-on-white finish “nods to MM6’s core aesthetic and the paint-drenched DM’s from its SS25 show”.

The first merges two Dr Martens favourites – the Original 1460 8-eye boot and 1461 3-eye shoe – enhanced with a bump toe, an embossed MM6 Maison Margiela numeric artwork on the ankle shaft, and a custom white AirWair heel loop.

The second, a 1461/Penton hybrid, “combines the structure of a lace-up with the ease of a slip-on, echoing the idea of a shoe within a shoe”.

Both styles are made from a mix of Smooth and Virginia leather, with tonal welt stitching and a DM’s bouncing sole, highlighting the play between classic form and deconstructed detail.

The MM6 Maison Margiela x Dr Martens capsule has just dropped on both brands’ websites, in select stores, and at key multi-brand retailers.
