An unfiltered art exhibition in London, “STEFDIES with Friends: THE AUDACITY,” explores the female gaze.
Hosted at Boxpark Shoreditch, the bold, uncensored show features a lineup of over 20 women “working in sculpture, photography, painting, mixed media, and performance,” the press release states. The show runs throughout July with works by Delphine Lebourgeois, Karen Turner, Louise Nordh, Willow Stacey and more.
Notably, each artist taps their POV for an artistic exploration of the female gaze. Here, joy and unapologetically reclaiming space are the motive. Described as a “vibrant, feminist ecosystem,” the group show’s 21 female-identifying artists debut “large-scale visual works, participatory performance art, live painting, mother-and-baby mornings, yoga pop-ups and more.”
“THE AUDACITY” is curated by performance artist Stephanie Leigh Rose, aka STEFDIES, who first went viral after sharing her anti-selfie series. The photo series portrayed her death at landmarks around the world as “die-ins.” Reflecting that same humor, her new group exhibit launched with an artist die-in.
Until the end of July, the exhibit will house “intimate artist wine chats, coffee art talks, workshops, public programming and a Closing Night celebration.
Visit the closing show on July 26.
