Editor’s pick — Accessory quick take: key highlight (movement/specs for watches, materials/finish, limited run, pricing tier) in 1–2 lines.
What We Know
If you ever look up at the warm tones of a full moon and think, “man, I wish I could have a bit of that on my wrist,” well, H. Moser has you covered. No, the new Streamliner Perpetual Moon Concept Meteorite is not made of moon rock (the name should make that obvious enough), but the new release has a unique twist on the normal very cold meteorite colors, with a new and impressive color to go with it.

By now, many of you probably know about the Gibeon meteorite that many, if not most, of the meteorite dials are made of. The Widmanstätten pattern is instantly recognizable, but this time the dial maker went further, giving it a golden fumé hue that is matched to the 5N red gold hands and moon. The hands are finished with Globolight inserts. This is housed in H. Moser’s more streamlined—no pun intended—40mm by 13.2mm stainless steel case (of which 1.8mm is taken up by the crystal, making it wear thinner). Additionally, there’s the stainless steel integrated bracelet. The case is water-resistant to 120m.

Inside is an updated version of the perpetual moon phase caliber that H. Moser had previously introduced as a hand-wound movement. The HMC 270 automatic manufacture caliber has a power reserve of three days and a moonphase accuracy of one day per 1027 years. If you do let the watch sit too long and need to adjust the moonphase, there’s a slightly hidden push button on the side of the case for easy setting. The watch also has an original Straumann hairspring, and the movement features an anthracite finish with Moser double stripes and partially skeletonized bridges.

The new H. Moser Streamliner Perpetual Moon Concept Meteorite is available now and is priced at CHF 35,000.
What We Think
This is a great addition to the H. Moser stable. The continued inclusion of creative aesthetic twists on complications, with the addition here of a colored meteorite dial, adds something to the Streamliner collection that is both a twist and still somehow slides well alongside their past smoked salmon releases. This might not be the version I’d buy for myself, but there’s no doubt that the meteorite dial will find a number of fans. My only concern is the legibility of the hands against the brown dial.
