The picture – Special contrasting welt

With relatively simple things one can create something completely unique, even if the base is still highly traditional both in terms of design and construction. This shoe here by Stefano Bemer is a great example of this.

It’s a sidelace wholecut in dark brown suede, not much fuss there even if it’s not the most common style of all. Then it has a thick contrasting piping running along the top line. Matching this comes the most unique part, which what looks to be a welt covered in natural contrasting leather as the piping. How they’ve placed the sole stitching as closely as possible to the upper to give the special welt a chance to shine shows how thought through it all is. Really creates a lovely effect, with relatively small steps away from standard.
