Introducing: The New Tudor Royal 28mm: In Blue And With Diamonds

Speaking of blue, it has appeared on Royal models before, and diamonds have been featured as well, but blue and diamonds haven’t been combined until now. It makes for a strong, if conventional, pairing and a subtle evolution of the Royal’s lineup.

However, I have always found the “half III” at 3 o’clock somewhat confusing. While I understand the design intent, I would have preferred its exclusion from this particular dial. On a watch that chose to replace eight Roman numerals with diamonds, the truncated III feels discordant to me. I know this detail has appeared on Royals before—in fact, it’s rare when it’s not there—but especially on a 28mm case, it feels unnecessary.
