Introducing: Omega x Swatch Are Finding New Moons To Conquer With The MoonSwatch Mission To Earthphase Moonshine Gold "Beaver Moon"

Alright, be honest with me. Have you ever heard of a “Beaver Moon?” No, well, neither had I before this latest MoonSwatch release. It seems that the folks at Swatch keep discovering new moons and creative ways to bring them to life, as evidenced by the new Omega x Swatch Mission to Earthphase Moonshine Gold “Beaver Moon.” If you want to cut to the chase, this new limited edition watch isn’t just available for one day like some previous releases, but rather from November 5 until the New Moon on November 20, 2025, at select Swatch stores that carry the MoonSwatch lineup.

This new release mirrors the last, with a blue bioceramic case and all the same specs as previous moonphase versions of the MoonSwatch. The dial is white, with a sparkly blue track at the edge that matches the sparkly blue hands and moonphase. This time, instead of a bucket of popcorn, the moonphase has been modified to look like a tree, eaten away by a beaver. 

Why a beaver? For decades, the Old Farmer’s Almanac has given moons nicknames based on nature and folklore, and apparently, this is the time of year when beavers begin to take shelter in their lodges. Same, beavers. Same.

If you’re a lover of Snoopy, there’s still the pup’s paw on the second moonphase surface, plus a picture of Snoopy and Woodstock, and a hidden luminous thought bubble on the dial (as well as luminous hands and hour markers). While you’re doing your best beaver impression and donning aran-knit sweaters and brewing hot cocoa, you can put on the new Beaver Moon MoonSwatch if you’re so lucky as to live near a Swatch store. The price is $450.

What We Think

It’s so great to see Swatch dedicate a watch to one of our favorite Canadian pop stars—oh, wait, I’m being told this is the BEAVER moon and not the BIEBER moon. In all seriousness, I think Omega and Swatch have created one of the biggest commercial successes in the watch industry, and the continued interest proves the MoonSwatch still has legs. At least, until they run out of moons. 

I’m sure there are a small number of people taking a page out of Pokémon and trying to catch all these releases. But kitschy concepts aside, I take the view that Swatch’s continued release of special-edition variants isn’t a bad thing, since some people might not have gotten the first, second, third, or 10th, but still want one. It’s a shame you still have to be within a reasonable distance of a Swatch store, but the more releases, the more likely it is that someone might just randomly stumble past a store when they otherwise wouldn’t be near one and can still pick up a new version.
