Introducing: Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 XPS Gets A New Champagne Dial And Microadjust For The Bracelet

Editor’s pick — Accessory quick take: key highlight (movement/specs for watches, materials/finish, limited run, pricing tier) in 1–2 lines.

What We Know

When Chopard combines its sporty, integrated-bracelet Alpine Eagle silhouette with the brand’s iconic L.U.C calibers, you know you’re in for a great time. This year at Watches and Wonders, Chopard follows up the success of its first Alpine Eagle 41 XPS, this time with a stunning “Mountain Glow” champagne dial and with a few subtle tweaks.

Alpine Eagle Mountain Glow Slant Soldier

The case and bracelet are made from Chopard’s Lucent Steel, an alloy that’s brighter than most traditional stainless steels and engineered for increased hardness, meaning better resistance to scratches and wear over time. It’s also a sustainable steel, made from around 80% recycled material, and has been used for all of Chopard’s steel watches since 2023. While the Alpine Eagle silhouette appears to be the same, the bracelet has been slightly redesigned with a more pronounced taper in the first five links for a more elegant appearance. But in even bigger news, the clasp now offers a new toolless microadjustment, allowing the bracelet to extend by up to 5 millimeters.

The new Mountain Glow dial offers a really unique champagne shade, matched with a stamped brass base motif that pays homage to the irises of, well, eagles. White gold hands and hour markers offer a light-catching contrast to enhance legibility, while black printing is applied to the rehaut, logo, and small seconds markings.

Of course, what makes it all special is the L.U.C 96.40-L caliber inside, a movement architecture that has stood the test of time as a heavyweight in the haute horlogerie arena. A 22-carat yellow gold microrotor powers the thin COSC-certified caliber, decorated with striping and anglage, completing the watch’s criteria for earning its Geneva Seal.

The Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 XPS with Mountain Glow dial is priced at $31,000.

What We Think

The salmon-dial Alpine Eagle 41 XPS was always a collector favorite, often being the one I’d see people choose as the watch to add to their collection. It’s understandable — aside from the unique 8Hz movement of the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF (my pick for favorite), the L.U.C offers that perfect cherry on top for what could otherwise be worn as a great everyday high-end option. For me, the salmon dial never worked quite well for my skin tone, and I think this new champagne dial solves all that.

However, perhaps the most newsworthy in this release is the debut of microadjustment in the new clasp. This is major, as Alpine Eagle bracelets in the past offered no quick adjustment at all (nor half-links out of the box, as far as I’m aware). While photos of this clasp weren’t provided, I’m looking forward to checking out the watch in person at the fair and hopefully reporting back with my findings. It’s for sure something that could persuade prospective buyers to finally take the plunge, and I’m not doubting for a second that current Alpine Eagle owners will be begging for a clasp retrofit as well.
