Editor’s pick — Accessory quick take: key highlight (movement/specs for watches, materials/finish, limited run, pricing tier) in 1–2 lines.
What We Know
Among the day’s releases and line updates, Tudor has announced a refresh of its Royal collection, a line originally named in the 1950s to signify a specific tier of quality within the brand. The 2026 range offers a selection of refinements and aesthetic tweaks while largely sticking to the format established by the return of the Royal back in 2020. For 2026, these newly updated models span a litany of dial executions across 40, 36, and 30mm versions in both steel and two-tone.

The collection is offered in 30mm, 36mm, and 40mm diameters, with cases available in either 316L stainless steel or a bicolor stainless steel and yellow gold (S&G) configuration. All models are waterproof to 100 meters and feature screw-down crowns and sapphire crystals. Dial options have been expanded to include black, blue, silver, green, salmon, and several other tones, including mother-of-pearl.
Telling the three sizes apart certainly won’t require a set of calipers: the 40mm model is distinguished by a day display at 12 o’clock, and a date window at 3 o’clock; the 36mm has a date at 3; and the 30mm is offered as time-only. The integrated five-link bracelet is now equipped with the Tudor “T-fit” rapid adjustment system, and the new Royals have been updated with redesigned lugs and end links to prevent bracelet links from making unwanted contact with the case.

The new Royals also get a new selection of in-house Manufacture Calibers across all sizes: the MT5633 (40mm), MT5412 (36mm), and MT5201 (30mm). These movements utilize non-magnetic silicon hairsprings and a traversing bridge for the balance wheel to improve shock resistance. The MT5412 and MT5633 are regulated to an accuracy of -2/+4 seconds per day and provide a 70-hour power reserve. The smaller MT5201 is regulated to -3/+5 seconds per day and offers a 50-hour power reserve.

Pricing for the 40mm stainless steel model starts at $3,675, while the S&G version is priced at $6,325. The 36mm references are priced at $3,425 for steel and $5,900 for S&G (and up to $6,300 if you want a diamond-set bezel). The 30mm versions range from $3,250 in steel to $5,400 for S&G or up to $6,250 for diamond-set variants.

What We Think
It’s hard to argue with what looks like a thoughtful, holistic consideration of how the Royale, now six years into the current Tudor catalog, integrates with what the brand has been up to over the past decade. While not as core as the cult-fave Black Bay, the Royal offers a handsome take on the integrated bracelet sports watch, and it’s great to see Tudor fit proper movements across the range, even into the 30mm models (where other brands might just opt for quartz).
At a personal level, I’ve never given the Royal much attention, so this update is a good reminder to check out the new lineup and see how it feels on the wrist. I am guilty of often only seeing Tudor for the BB, the Pelagos, the Ranger, and the like, but with the new 2026-spec Royal, the brand offers an alternative, and refined, route to the greater Tudor experience.
